Adi Baba Mandir

The Adi Baba Mandir is a memorial built in the honor of Sepoy Bhajan Singh who met with a tragic accident in this area and died. His Samadhi was constructed near Chhokhya Chho but was later shifted to the Watershed Memorial near LOG BR. Wreath lying ceremony is held at this site in the memory of all those Valliant soldiers who laid their lives at the Watershed defending their motherland.

The legend purports that the spirit of the soldier continues to protect and guide the Indan Army present in Nathula Sector.

There are two shrines built in the memory of “Baba” Harbhajan Singh – one is known as Adi Baba Mandir, which is the original Baba Mandir  and is closer to Zuluk. While the other shrine is known as the New Baba Mandir and is closer to Tsomgo Lake. Both the shrines are maintained by the Indian Army. The divinity of the place can be really felt at such a height especially when the mandir  reverbates with bhajans in the morning, which takes you closer to the god. The beauty of the place combined with divinity makes you feel one with nature and god.
